Karl Heinrich Marx (May 5, 1818 - March 14, 1883) was a Prussian philosopher, political economist, revolutionary, and, most notoriously, the author of the The Communist Manifesto.
As a student, he wrote a doctoral dissertation comparing the philosophies of Democritus and Epicurus.
