Analysis
An uncommonly poetic, metaphorical, and exuberant aphorism: so great is Epicurus' esteem for friendship, that he visualizes it as "dancing" around the entire oikoumene (literally: inhabited world), calling upon all of us to rise and receive its "blessing". Humanity is called upon to rejoice, to participate in the joy that is true friendship.
While this Saying does not elaborate on, or further any philosophical argumentation, it is powerfully inspiring.
